JoAnne DeSoto, Where Are You?

by Melissa Kutcher

John Gage walked into the locker room of Station 51, where he found his partner, Roy DeSoto, staring blankly.

"What's wrong, pally?" Johnny asked.

"I thought my wife would show up more than she has. It's been six years and no one has seen her," Roy lamented.

JoAnne was at the party in the pilot episode being serenaded by Dr. Early," Johnny stated.

"But then she disappeared. At least until we appeared on that game show," Roy smiled.

"No, she wasn't. The picture on the television was snowy. We didn't get the picture fixed until you came on," Johnny commented.

"And where are my kids? They never appeared on the show at all," Roy commented.

"You'd think that your kids would play with Boot, or even Henry," Johnny said.

"They never even named my daughter," Roy lamented.

"At least they named your son. I like the name Christopher," Johnny added.

"Wait a minute, with my family not on the show, I didn't have to rescue them," Roy said, relieved.

"You're right. You would be worried sick if you ever had to rescue JoAnne and the kids," Johnny said.

"If I had to rescue my family as many times as I had to rescue you, Junior, I'd have a heart attack," Roy said.

"I'm not that clumsy," Johnny retorted. "By the way, don't you have a picture of your family in your wallet?" he asked.

"Yes, Junior, you're that clumsy," Roy said as he reached for his back pocket. Just as Roy was reaching for his wallet, the klaxons went off.

"Station 51, unknown type rescue. 612 South Fourth Street, 6-1-2 South Fourth Street. Across the street, Pine. Time out 1806," Sam Lanier said.

"10-4. Station 51 KMG365," Captain Stanley said.
