Emergency! Poetry

Limerick

(Author's note: This is the very first piece of fan fic I ever wrote. It was written in 1977.)

There was a man named Gage,

Who couldn't turn a page.

Then he heard something,

He heard no ring,

Now he's in a rage.

Ode to Emergency!

To the guys at Station 51,

Who so bravely fight fires and rescue the sacred and weak.

Also to the men and women at Rampart,

Who mend what ails the sick and injured.

At Station 51,

There's Roy, a family man,

Johnny, a paramedic with heart.

Stoker, who makes sure the engine gets to the scene.

Chet , whose jokes lighten up any situation.

Marco, who fights fires with flair.

All under the watchful eyes of Captains Hammer and Stanley.

Roy and Johnny are also helped by

Dr. Brackett, a man with patience,

Dr. Early, a gentle giant,

And Dr. Morton, young and ambitious.

If they get into trouble,

Dixie will keep them in line.

To the men and women of Emergency,

Thank from the bottom of my heart.

It really is no Dilemma, Gage and DeSoto do Floor Brigade.

Listen to the guys at 51 share Gossip.

They even rescue Kareem.

The Bottom Line, It's How You Play the Game.

Thanks to the Wedsworth-Townsend Act,

With the Helpful men and women at Rampart,

They treat Botulism, Snake Bite, and Virus,

And help The Girl on the Balance Beam.

For Gage, it's Nurses Wild,

While DeSoto loves his wife and Kids.

Watch out for Brice, The Nuisance, at the Seance.

Gage and DeSoto have Propinquity.

Here's to the Greatest Rescues of Emergency.
